Last year, at the peak of China's crackdown on bitcoin miners and trading activity within its jurisdiction, bitcoin's mining hash rate dropped to a record low of 58.4 million terahashes per second.

Bitcoin's hash rate reached a new ATH

However, new data from Glassnode showed that bitcoin hashrate has fully recovered from last year's lows and reached a new all-time high just two days before the new year. According to the data, bitcoin's hash rate is now at a record high of 208 million terahash per second.

Bitcoin's hash rate is the amount of computing power used to mine new coins, secure and verify transactions on the main digital asset's network.

A higher hash rate usually means there are more miners in the space looking to help secure the network, so some analysts tend to consider this a bullish sign for the industry.
